109 Electric buses for Oslo

Norgesbuss, one of the leading bus operators in Norway, was awarded a contract for public transportation in the south of Oslo. The tender for 109 electric buses ensures that 96% of buses in South Oslo will be electric. This means 40% of bus transport in the whole city will be electric. The vehicles will go into operation in January 2022. Oslo’s goal is to be the world’s first capital without greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. By 2028, public transport must be completely emission free. This project means a big cut in greenhouse gases and cleaner air for Oslo’s residents.

The electric buses will be build by manufacturers VDL Bus & Coach, BYD and Solaris. VDL will supply 83 citeas SLFA-180 Electric and 19 SLF-120 Electric. They’ll join 40 VDL e-buses already operating in the city. BYD will provide 7 K9UE buses. The company has been an important manufacturer of electric buses for Oslo in the past years. The other 5 buses will be Solaris’ Urbino 4. The buses wil mainly be charged at the depot with a charging solution which provides a lot of flexibility.

Ventura Systems is proud to announce that we will be providing the door systems for the electric buses manufactured by VDL, BYD and Solaris for the Oslo tender.
