We are pleased to announce that Ventura Systems has acquired the remaining 75% shareholding in Transport
Door Solutions (TDS) from the current shareholders, making TDS a wholly owned member of the Ventura Systems Group. This marks the next step in their successful partnership. Ventura has been a 25% shareholder in TDS for several years, and together we have worked closely to support operators, OEMs and partners across the UK and Ireland.
By bringing TDS fully into the Ventura family, Ventura strengthens its long term commitment to the UK market. This integration will enable even closer collaboration, particularly in spare parts,
service and customer support, while creating new opportunities for growth and delivering even greater value to customers and partners. The relationship between Ventura from the Netherlands and TDS from Halstead, Essex, is built on almost two decades of successful cooperation.
Since becoming Ventura’s service partner in the UK and Ireland in 2008, TDS has developed into a highly respected provider of parts, maintenance, training and technical support for bus door systems, serving more than 2,200 operators across the region. Ventura further strengthened the partnership by acquiring a 25% shareholding in TDS, creating a shared commitment to growth and customer service. With around 90% of TDS’s business now linked to Ventura products and services, full acquisition is a natural next step.
The acquisition is taking place in the year in which TDS is celebrating its 20th anniversary and marks the start of a new chapter for the company. Although the day-to-day operations and familiar face in the market will remain the same, the acquisition is aimed at supporting future growth and enabling TDS to become an even stronger partner for service, parts and training in the UK and Ireland.
What does this mean for our customers?
While Transport Door Solutions is now fully part of Ventura Systems, customers can expect the same trusted company, the same familiar faces, and the same high level of service they have come to rely on. The TDS name will remain unchanged, both in the marketplace and as a legal entity, preserving the strong reputation the company has built throughout the UK and Ireland. Transport Door Solutions will continue to support door systems from multiple manufacturers; however, as part of Ventura Systems, its primary focus will be on Ventura products, systems and services. TDS has established itself as the leading provider of parts, maintenance, training and technical support for bus door systems across the UK and Ireland, and this position will be further strengthened through closer integration with Ventura. Ventura Systems and TDS will continue to operate under their own established brands while working even more closely together. TDS employees will remain employed by TDS, ensuring continuity, local expertise, and the personal approach that customers value. For customers, this means they can continue using the same contact information, reaching the same contact persons, and using the same tools, including the website, product guide and other existing resources.
Future growth
The acquisition strengthens an already successful partnership, combining the knowledge, experience, and capabilities of both organisations to deliver an even better customer experience. This means improved access to technical expertise, enhanced service support, greater quality OE parts availability and closer collaboration between the Ventura and TDS teams. The shared focus remains on maximising vehicle uptime and providing fast, reliable support whenever it is needed. Plans are already in place to increase the stock of parts with longer lead times in the UK, in order to improve response times for repairs following accidents involving VOR equipment. Looking ahead, the ambition is clear: to continue growing the business together and further strengthen our position in the market. As part of Ventura’s wider growth strategy, TDS is ideally positioned to benefit from increased scale, stronger international partnerships, and greater innovation. This creates new opportunities to serve customers, expand market reach, and drive continued growth, while maintaining the identity, culture, and customer-first approach that have made TDS successful.
